Teacher Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first page you see when you log into the teacher portal. It provides an immediate overview of today's schedule, key metrics, and pending tasks requiring your attention.

Where to find it: Navigation Menu → Home (or /teacher)

1. Quick Metrics (KPI Strip)

Four key performance indicators are displayed at the top of the dashboard:

  • My Groups: The total number of active groups you teach.
  • My Students: The total number of students enrolled in your groups.
  • Pending Grades: The number of assignments or quizzes submitted by students that you have not yet graded.
  • Attendance Gaps: The number of completed class sessions for which you have not yet logged attendance.

2. Today's Schedule (Today's Hero Card)

The main section of the dashboard focuses on your schedule for today:

  • Displays your next upcoming class session along with its start time, classroom (physical or digital link), and the group name.
  • Quick Attendance: You can log student attendance directly from this card by clicking the "Record Attendance" button, without having to navigate to the main attendance page.

3. Week Ahead Schedule

A horizontal calendar strip showing your schedule for the next 7 days:

  • Displays the number of teaching hours scheduled for each day.
  • Clicking on a day opens a detailed list of scheduled sessions at the bottom.
  • Perfect for planning your week and finding free slots.

4. To-Do Rail

The To-Do Rail on the right side of the screen is your personal automated assistant. It flags outstanding items that require immediate action.

What Appears on the To-Do List?

  1. Missing Attendance: If a class session has ended but you haven't recorded attendance, a reminder is generated (e.g., "Record attendance for Group A1 - July 4").
  2. Ungraded Assignments: When a student submits homework, a grading task is created (e.g., "Grade submission: Math - John D.").

How to Resolve To-Do Items

  • Every item in the To-Do list is clickable.
  • Clicking a missing attendance reminder takes you directly to that session's attendance log sheet.
  • Clicking a grading reminder opens the specific student's submission file ready for evaluation.
  • Once you complete the action, the task is automatically cleared from the To-Do Rail.
