Parent Dashboard
The Dashboard is the home page of the parent portal. It is designed to give you an immediate view of your children's daily schedule, attendance, pending homework, and recently published grades.
Where to find it: Navigation Menu → Home (or /parent)
1. Context Switcher (Selecting Sibling Profiles)
If you have more than one child enrolled in the school, the Children Selector Strip appears at the top of your dashboard displaying their names.
How does the Context Switcher work?
Clicking on a child's name:
- Activates that child's student profile.
- Refreshes all stats and widgets on your dashboard to display data for that child.
- Global Scope: This selection persists across the entire portal. When you navigate to the "Grades", "Attendance", or "Financials" tabs, the system displays data only for the sibling selected on the dashboard. You can switch between siblings at any time using this top bar.
2. Child Summary KPIs
Once a child's profile is selected, the stats bar summarizes:
- Attendance Rate: The percentage of scheduled classes attended (e.g., 98%).
- GPA Average: The child's overall academic average score (e.g., 18.2 / 20).
- Pending Homework: The count of assignments the child has not yet submitted.
- Tuition Balance: The remaining financial dues logged for this child.
3. Today's Schedule (Child's Timetable)
Displays the selected child's scheduled classes for today:
- Shows the subject title, teacher's name, start/end hours, and physical/online classroom.
- Helps you monitor when your child is in school and who their teacher is.
4. Recent Activity & Tasks (Todo Widget)
- Recent Activity Feed: Updates in real-time as events occur (e.g., "Teacher J. Doe published grade 19/20 in Mathematics" or "1 absence logged today").
- Todo Widget: Alerts you about actions requiring your attention, such as acknowledging a school notice or reviewing a progress report.
